The “Purpleheart”!
This ‘Pocket Token’ is made from beautiful “Purpleheart”.. It is found in Central and South America (from Mexico to southern Brazil). When freshly cut, the heartwood is a dull grayish/purplish brown. Upon exposure, the wood becomes a deeper eggplant purple; with further age and exposure to UV light, it can become a dark brown with a hint of purple, but as a ‘pocket token’, it will most likely remain the same color as when you first received it. The Tokens have gone through 13 grits of sanding and have not been stained…just buffed to a shine to show the natural wood color. A nice pocket reminder!
The embedded Masonic Square & Compasses emblem is the same as I use on my knives. Token Diameter: 1-1/4″; Thickness: between 5/16″ and 3/8″. Unstained. Buffed to a shine.
